Stafford Labs Orthotics and Prosthetics is an accredited facility by The American Board of Orthotics and Prosthetics. We use the team approach to improve the functional capabilities of our patients by working closely with other healthcare professionals. Kimberley C. Thompson, C.P.O., is our practitioner and is certified by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics, which has the highest standards of accreditation in the field of Orthotics, which has the highest standards of accreditation in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics. Beginning with the evaluation of the patient, casting, initial fit, modification, delivery and throughout their care and follow up, our practitioner will be in contact with the patient’s physician, therapists, case managers and any other appropriate healthcare professionals.

In addition to providing orthotics and prosthetics, we are a certified facility for the Walk-Aide System (, which has been featured neuromuscular stimulator system intended to address foot drop in patients who have sustained damage to upper motor neurons or pathways in the brain or spinal cord. The Walk-Aide stimulates the nerve as it passed below the knee and activates the muscles that raise the foot, and improve walking ability.

Our practitioner is also trained to fit pediatric patients with the Therapeutic Ambulatory Orthotic System (TAOS Walker –, which is designed to function as an essential aid for a child that has neuromotor impairments including Cerebral Palsy. The walker encourages upright hands free standing or ambulation and expands the child’s mobility.

Our business office will assume the responsibility of obtaining necessary documentation as required by the patients’ health insurance, including verification of benefits, pre-authorization, filing of claims and follow-up with their insurance company. We will also be in contact with the patient to ensure that the requirements of their health insurance company have been met and inform them of any financial liability they may incur, Our office staff has a very strong knowledge of health insurance, coding and benefits that may be available, and are willing to assist with any questions or concerns that may arise.

Our well-equipped local manufacturing facility has technicians who have been thoroughly trained to fabricate and adjust orthoses and prostheses to ensure a high quality product and minimize turn around time for delivery.
